DEPUTY DIRECTOR (NURSING SERVICES), JOB GROUP K2 (1 POST)
Job Purpose
The Deputy Director (Nursing Services) will be reporting the Director, Clinical Services and will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing services in the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Developing, maintaining and implementing nursing policies and procedures that
conform to current standards of nursing practice and operational policies while
maintaining compliance with National laws and regulations.

Communicating and interpreting policies and procedures to nursing staff and monitor
their practices and implementation.

Coordinating patient care activities in collaboration with nurse managers,
administrative and other technical personnel in the Hospital.

Developing nursing standards and playing a leading role in the implementation,
monitoring and evaluation.

Ensuring that the planning and delivery of nursing services are addressed and meet
the changing needs of clients.

Collaborating with consultants, administrative and other medical staff to improve the
quality of services to patients and to resolve identified problems.

Participating in the development and implementation of strategic plans for nursing
services.

Participating in the annual planning and budgeting for nursing services during
preparation of the Hospital budget and ensure proper utilization of allocated funds.

Preparing employees for the desired changes in working styles, attitudes and work
ethics.

Planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the divisional/individual

Qualifications and experience

- Higher Diploma in Nursing or Diploma in Advanced Nursing
- Bachelor’s Degree in either Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution. OR
- Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) from a recognized university.

The position is on a three (3) year renewable contract subject to satisfactory

POSTS), OPERATING ROOM (3 POSTS), PAEDIATRIC (2 POSTS),

- Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.
- Collecting and compiling data. Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery (KRN/M) or Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN).
- Post-basic training in any of the following specialities: Critical Care, Operating Room, Paediatrics, Neonatal, Accident & Emergency nursing and have at least one (1) year experience in the area of speciality.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid Practising License from Nursing Council of Kenya.
Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.
